How to activate modules

What a module is

Kreamatic is built from modules, for example Locations, Casting, Projects, Tasks and Time & Expenses. You get a working free account with the basics, and add the modules you need. Each module has its own plans, and some modules have add-on modules that are bought separately.

Who can activate

  • Modules are activated by the owner or an administrator. If you are a member of a company, an administrator in the company buys the modules for the company. You can see the page, but the buttons are locked, and the page names who you can ask.
  • If you have an individual account, you activate the modules yourself.
  • If you are a company member and want to own content privately, you can choose Buy for myself. It gives you your own subscription, separate from the company's. The company always owns what you make in the company.

First three steps

  1. During setup you are asked Add modules (optional). Choose Add on the modules you want, or skip and do it later. If you are in a company, the modules are bought for the company.
  2. Later, open the page for modules. For a company, choose Modules in your company and use Activate or View Plans on the card. For yourself, use + Add Module on the Billing & Subscription page.
  3. Give people access. Activating a module does not give everyone access automatically: access is given per module and per person on the Users page. For example, access to the Location module.

Good to know

  • An add-on module requires the module it belongs to (Basic) to be active first. The card says what it requires.
  • Tasks come free with another paid module. If you have no paid module, Tasks asks you to subscribe to one, or to ask your company for access to one.
  • Storage is one shared pot for the whole account, not a separate part per module. Read Get started with Storage.
  • If you deactivate a module, the data is kept, but nobody has access until it is active again.
  • Prices are shown on the plan overview and the payment page. They are not in the help.

Frequently asked questions

Why do some modules say they are not available for purchase yet?

The module has no price or plan yet. The card says it is not available for purchase, and you can come back later. Nothing is charged.

Why can I not activate a module?

You are probably not the owner or an administrator in the company. Ask an administrator, or choose Buy for myself if you want your own subscription.

I activated the module, but my colleagues cannot get in

The subscription gives the company the module, but access is given per person. Open Users and turn the module on for each of them.

Get started as a business

Business is for production companies and agencies with several employees. The business owns the content and handles billing and storage. There is no setting for this when you create the business: what members create belongs to the business. A member who has their own subscription to a module can still choose to create something private.
